Occurrence is an upland oak-pine forest just upslope from a small creek and downslope form a more deciduous forest that leads to the ridge. The community is bounded on either side by drainages. On the opposite side of the north drainage a community much like this one occurs bit it lacks any shale barren endemics. It apprears, from the map that there are likely several such slopes occurring similarly down this creek.;Vegetation is homogenous throughout the plot dominated by an oak pine canopy. There is a large accumulation of litter and fairly sparse ground vegetation. There is virtually no exposed bare ground surface.
Representativeness
Plot is representative of this community. No Arabis serotina was found throughout community. Plot was chosen because of its nearness to where Arabis serotina was previously located and is most like a shale barren habitat.
